Alexander May is a photographic director who explores narrative based editorial inspired imagery with digital based work. Telling stories is a passion he discovered late 2023 focussing on personal life stories presented through the photographic medium. This was adapted to fiction based work inspired by film and other external mediums towards the end of 2025. Inspired by his own paranoia, one of May’s more notable pieces is his work titled ‘Run Girl’ depicting a young girl running through dark woods alone at night exploring the concept of running away from the unknown.

May has been a part of two different collectives throughout his career so far; the Reformation Group whose main focus was exploring new contemporary artists within the Bournemouth area, as well as the Undisclosed Collective which was formed along with May’s peers. May had a notable role within the Undisclosed Collective including organisation of meetings and events as well as fundraising, marketing, and installation.

Alexander May has received a BA (Hons) Photography degree from The Arts University Bournemouth in 2026. During his studies, May was able to showcase his work in many exhibitions, including Place Mill Gallery (Christchurch, August 2024), BAD Space (Bournemouth, June 2025), The Auger Collective (Bournemouth, February 2026), as well as Copland Park (London, June 2026). On top of showing his own work at galleries, he has also had the opportunity of being a gallery assistant for Andy Earl’s ‘See Or Be Seen’ Exhibition at The Gallery, Bournemouth.
